Intelligence from orbit,
conviction from data.

Team Anant is a student satellite research and engineering team at BITS Pilani. We design, build, and operate the spacecraft ourselves. We write the ground processing algorithms. Every thesis here resolves against data our team collected from orbit — not news feeds, not third-party APIs. The satellite is real. The data is ours.

01 — Our Approach

The data comes from
satellites we built.

We built the satellite. We wrote the ground processing pipeline. Every thesis here resolves against data our team collected from orbit — at our cadence, over AOIs we defined, with methodology published before each thesis opens. The resolution is algorithmic. No editorial judgment. Just the physics of what ANANTSAT-2 actually measured.

01
Our own collection
ANANTSAT-2 collects imagery no public source has at our cadence and resolution over the Indian subcontinent. We operate the spacecraft, we process the data.
02
Deterministic resolution
Every thesis specifies the exact algorithm, threshold, and AOI before it opens. No human judgment at resolution. The satellite packet is the arbiter.
03
Immutable provenance
No editorial dispute process. The raw telemetry packet or calibrated image strip is the final record — immutable, on-orbit, cryptographically timestamped.
02 — Signal Modalities

Five signal modalities.
Zero third-party dependency.

OPTICAL
Visible + NIR + SWIR
Cloud fraction, NDVI, AOD, surface reflectance. Delivered per overpass, cloud-masked, atmospherically corrected.
SAR
C-band Coherence
Interferometric change detection at 6-day repeat cadence. Identifies sub-metre surface deformation and new construction.
THERMAL
LWIR Surface Temp.
Land surface and sea surface temperature via split-window algorithm. Calibrated against MODIS and NOAA OISST.
TELEMETRY
Onboard Housekeeping
Real-time EPS, ADCS, COMMS, and OBC packets downlinked at Pilani ground station. Published within 15 min of AOS.
MISSION
Milestone Events
Deployment sequences, subsystem qualification, and commissioning events settled by raw packet confirmation.
